Sherlysaa Chiew obtained her Advanced Diploma in Accounting from The Association of International Accountants and the LCCI International Qualifications in Accounting from the Advanced Learning College in Klang, before pursuing her studies in Music at the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA). She graduated from MIA with a Diploma in Music in 2013, majoring in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Ms. Yuen Leow Yunn. Sherlysaa also holds a Certificate in Music Education (Primary Level) from the Australian Kodaly Institute and ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano (Practical and Theory).
As a singer, she has been an active member of the award-winning Malaysian Institute of Art Ladies Chorus, where she participated in several overseas tours to Australia, Philippines, Vietnam and winning several prizes at various choir competitions including Gold Diplomas at the 2nd and 4th Vietnam International Choir Competition in 2012 and 2015 respectively.
Sherlysaa is currently a full-time Executive Administrator for Young Choral Academy (YCA) – Malaysia’s first specialist academy for the training and development of choral singers, conductors, teachers and music educators. With a passion and keen interest in Arts and Stage Management, garnering an impressive portfolio of projects to date, she has worked on concert projects for Young Choral Academy, Child Aid Asia, Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) and for schools. She has been the Festival Administrator for the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod – one of Malaysia’s leading independent choral festivals, since 2014.
