Lydia Oh


Lydia started her musical learning at the age of 8. Her first instrument was on a cello under Aileen Khoo, Halina Ostojska and Arne Neckelmann (the former Principle Cellist of Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra). In 2007, she went to study at Te Deum Music Workshop for Full-time Musician Building Program and got herself a Diploma Certificate, majoring piano performance under the tutelage of Elaine Pao. Analysis, Music History and Piano Literature studies under Leu Pit Yean. Sight-Singing and Ear Training under Lee Mei Yen.

In 2009, she went to Vienna for her further studies at Prayner Konservatorium für Musik und Dramatische Kunst, coached by Prof. Walter Fleischmann (Emphasis on Bach, Classical and Romantic Repertoire), and Prof. Cho Sumi on piano accompaniment. During her stay in Vienna, she studied and researching on Classical period music, analysis, arts, culture and society under Maria Pischloeger (A well-known Musicologist in Vienna). She graduated with Diplom-Zertifikat für darstellende Kunst im Klavier. In 2012, she attached herself in Te Deum Music Workshop mainly teaching and working as an event coordinator. Performed her first Piano Concerto in G Major by Haydn in “My Passion, My Life, My Music” concert in July 2014. Also, involving closely in Yin Qi Music Centre Bhd. as one of the choir member, stage manager and orchestra manager till present. She has performed many sacred works such as Bach’s Cantatas BWV78 and BWV140 in 2008, Magnificat by J.S. Bach and The Creation by Haydn in 2013, Requiem by Mozart in 2014, Glorious Night of Hymns in 2015, Elijah by Mendelssohn in 2016, Beethoven Symphony No.9 and Beethoven Missa Solemnis in 2017, and Mass in D Major by Dvorak in 2018.

Lydia is now currently working in Young Choral Academy Sdn. Bhd. as Production Manager.
