Ng Jin Keat is a graduate of SEGI College with a Music Diploma, majoring in Vocals and minoring in Piano. He began his vocal training under Mr. Armando Chin Yong from 2005 to 2007, and was studying under Mr. Ian Lim 2007 to 2010. Jin Keat has a Performance Certificate in Singing from Trinity Guildhall, and also a Diploma in Vocals from the London College of Music.
He has sung with the Klang Hokkien Association Youth Choir, the Klang Chamber Choir, Seremban Chung Hua Alumni, and the Segi College Music Department Choir.
He is a former member of the Dithyrambic Singers conducted by Mr. Ian Lim, and has sung with them in many local and international choral festivals and competitions, such as the 1st Asian Choir Games in Jakarta, 2007, where they were Champions in the Music Contemporanea category. In 2008, he was also part of the competition team of the Dithyrambic Singers which achieved Gold and Champion (Open Mixed Choir), Gold (Folklore A cappella Category) and the Special Jury Award (Grand Final) in the 21st Century International Choral Festival(China). That same year, Jin Keat was selected as the lead solo of the choir and achieved the Grand Prix Championship Winner at the Busan Choral Festival & Competition in Korea. In 2012 he join Young KL singers (YKLS) and did a production Popzzical with YKLS at Actors Studio.
Apart from singing in choir, Jin Keat is also a notable solo performer. He obtained 4th place in the Southern Regionals of the Malaysia Classical Singing Competition in 2007 and was a finalist in the National Classical Singing competition that same year. In 2008, he placed 2nd in the Kuala Lumpur Classical Singing Competition and went on to become a finalist in the National Classical Singing Competition later. He was also a finalist in the 2010 Kuala Lumpur Classical Singing Competition.
Jin Keat counts teaching among his many achievements. He was tenor sectional leader of the youth category since 2010 to 2012 Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod, and was appointed as one of the teaching staff at the Young Choral Academy, working with the, SMJK Catholic, SMJK Ipoh Sam Tet Boy School, SMK Bandar Kinara 1, Subang Youth Chamber choir.
As a performer, Jin Keat is always keen to explore new horizons. In 2010, he was accepted as a member of the Asian Youth Choir which performed in the Philippines, and passed an audition to 2011 be part of the first Asia Pacific Youth Choir in Macao. In 2012 and 2013 he got invited to join Asia Pacific Youth Choir in 2012 at Beijing and Dallas, USA.
