Kathleen Roshene

Kathleen Roshene Prasad Menon graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Arts and received her Diploma in Music. She majored in vocal singing. Kathleen has been a part of the Young Choral Academy for the past 6 years now and have been with Ms Susanna Saw, the music director for 12 years. She was the first batch of students in The KL Children’s Choir and have since graduated and moved on to the adult group known as The Young KL Singers. She has had the chance to perform in various events organised. She has performed at The Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod and have also been a part of many YCA productions. She has also performed at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre(KLPAC), The Actor’s Studio, Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC),  Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) and many more. She was under the guidance of Ms Tracy Wong for her vocal training. She received certificates from the Trinity Guildhall examination board for many choral group performances and obtained a distinction for Grade 7 vocal examination under Trinity Guildhall. Besides taking part in most of YCA’s activities, she was also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Arts Ladies Chorus whom she’s travelled with to Sabah and Vietnam for competitions and has traveled to Brisbane, attending the Kodaly Symposium there. She completed the Musical Theatre course there and continued taking the Primary Level teaching course.She has completed the level 1 and 2 and would be completing the course in December. She has travelled to Bali with Naturally Vocal, a youth choir under Ms Tracy Wong for a competition as well. She has also performed at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore with her a capella quartet group for the Child Aid Asia 2013. She is also part of the Asia Pacific Youth Choir and has gone to Korea last year,2014 and will be performing again this year in Milan and Macau. She is currently teaching at the Sri Emas international school as a music teacher assistant and also a teacher for the Kepong Baru school choir. She also teaches the Elementary level at the KL Children’s Choir in Young Choral Academy, TTDI and The Subang Jaya’s Children Choir in the Taipan branch. She is very keen into venturing deeper into the choral and music scene and help the younger generation enjoy the passion that she has to share in music.
