Youth Chamber Choirs

Young Choral Academy (YCA) is a proud home to three outstanding youth chamber choirs; Naturally Vocal Youth Chamber Choir, New Edge Youth Chamber Choir and Vox Vivacis Youth Chamber Choir. They are led by an equally outstanding team of choral conductors who offer excellent musical training and choral leadership for singers in secondary (high school) to collegiate/university age.

They meet once a week to rehearse and work on a diverse programme and repertoire of music and perform in various projects and concerts throughout the year, culminating in a large scale concert production.

Recent projects include the fully-staged operetta “The Mikado” by Gilbert and Sullivan at Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) in 2014 and most recently collaborated with EST Opera in the fundraising Opera Gala concert at KLPac for Kuala Lumpur City Opera (KLCO) in October 2015, regular appearances at the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod and other concert projects.

The main artistic aim of our Youth Chamber Choirs are:

  1. To develop a love for choral singing amongst young singers
  2. To widen the knowledge of choral repertoire across different musical genres
  3. To be a strong foundation for character building, teamwork and leadership skills through singing
  4. To create a platform for young people to be in the performing arts through singing
  5. To develop a love for performing arts through music and singing
